These pictures were taken about a year or so ago after I had someone highlight my hair using the Balayage technique.
While I loved the color of my Ombre hair I was very disappointed to see multiple lines throughout my hair due to someone “bumping into me” while my hair was processing causing the product to get smushed together and bleed.
This is one of two major causes of horizontal lines in Balayage applications. The other would be the client touching or sitting back on their wrapped Balayage sections.
To avoid this always make sure that when your application is finished, or even before it is finished, you do not sit forward and then lean back on your wraps. Don’t let anyone touch your wraps until it is time to rinse out the product at the shampoo bowl. Also advise people who stop to chat with you to please not lean too close to you because any sudden movement might accidentally knock them into you causing these types of lines.
Once the lines are there there really isn’t any easy or cost effective way to get rid of them.
Here is a photo taken after that particular Balayage service with my hair styled in waves to camouflage the lines.
