Recently I’ve been trying my hand in Light Painting Photography, which is where you take a photo with a long exposure and while the shutter is open use LED lights or flashlights to draw images or text in the air. The other night I practiced this technique with a friend of mine and these were our results:
I hope you guys enjoyed these images. Light painting is something that I have always seen but never tried until now. It’s a pretty simple thing to try even if you are not a photographer.
The only tools you will need:
LED flashlights – For using as drawing tools, or for lighting up your subject’s face/body from the front or back. Get multiple colors and shapes to create a range of shapes and objects. A pop of color here and there is a great way to brighten up the image.
Camera with a long shutter setting – The longer the better, just make sure that you are quick with your art.
A model – Even if you don’t have a model you can always write out words by pressing the shutter button and then stepping into the frame.
I will be sure to post some more images soon of my Light Paintings. I already have another shoot planned for this week!!
